How to Grill Broccoli
Gas Grill
Direct or Indirect Heat? You have options:
- Direct Heat: Preheat your grill to medium-high (around 425°F). Place the florets directly on the grates and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until slightly charred and tender-crisp.
- Indirect Heat: This method creates a gentler cook. Preheat your grill to medium heat, using a drip pan below the broccoli. Cover the florets on the grill rack above the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes until tender.
Stove-Top Grill Pan
- Heat the Pan: Preheat your grill pan over medium-high heat. A cast iron pan works exceptionally well, but any grill pan will do.
- Grill Time: Add the seasoned broccoli florets to the hot pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until tender-crisp and slightly charred. You want those delicious grill marks!
Finishing Touches: Once cooked, remove the broccoli from the grill, squeeze fresh lemon juice, and a sprinkle of pecorino cheese.

- Cooling is Key: Before storing, let your grilled broccoli cool completely.
