Lemon Greek Salad Dressing (Ladolemono)

Greek Salad Dressing Recipe

If I could bottle one dressing to always keep on hand, it's this one.

This Greek salad dressing is what makes simple veggies taste like something you'd get at a Mediterranean café. It's bold, briny, and balanced. And once you make it at home, there's truly no going back to bottled.

As a Mediterranean recipe developer and home cook, who's constantly reaching for herbs, citrus, and olive oil, I've made a lot of vinaigrettes. This is the one that checks every box. It's flavorful and goes way beyond salad.

What is Ladolemono?

Ladolemono is a velvety mixture of freshly squeezed lemon juice and rich olive oil, an essential flavor profile in Greek cuisine.

It always surprises me how a few basic ingredients can turn into something this delicious. Here's what you'll need.

Greek Dressing Ingredients

Greek Dressing Ingredients
  • Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Olive oil: Use a light or a rich, robust (my favorite) olive oil.
  • Oregano: For Earthiness.
  • Salt and pepper: Sea salt and coarse black pepper to see those beautiful specks in the dressing.

Greek Dressing Variations

The base of this dressing is solid as-is, but it's easy to make it your own. Try experimenting with herbs-oregano is classic, and I love adding a bit of mint for freshness.

Here are other herbs to consider:

  • Thyme
  • Basil
  • Mint
  • Dill
  • Rosemary
  • Tarragon

Storage Instructions

If you have any leftovers, store the dressing in the refrigerator for up to a week.
