Hi, I'm Ashley, the writer, recipe developer, food photographer, and your behind-the-scenes one-woman show here at Crave-Worthy.
This corner of the internet is where my love for storytelling meets my obsession with cooking. Every recipe you'll find here has been dreamed up, tested (sometimes more times than I care to admit), photographed, and edited by me. I'm not a "dump and stir" kind of cook, and if you're here, you probably aren't either.
Meet the Creator
I have a bachelor's degree in English with a focus on New Media Writing, and before I ever hit publish on a recipe, I was winning six collegiate writing and photography awards and competing in recipe contests.
Before that? I was a dietetics major. I spent hours in culinary and food science classes, learning the chemistry of flavor, but I realized I didn't want to spend my life in a lab or hospital. I wanted to create. So I took everything I knew about nutrition, food, and storytelling, and started my first blog (which was eventually sold to an investor).
Then life took me to Turkey, where I learned how to eat seasonally, cooking for a larger family (and many friends and neighbors), and hosting like it's a love language. That experience changed the way I think about food. Cooking is not just about taste; it's about togetherness.
My Cooking Philosophy
My household is a flavorful mix of American and Turkish traditions. I'm the American half, my husband, Ali, brings the Turkish flair, and our twins are the perfect blend of both.
That fusion inspires everything I cook here. I create recipes that play with Mediterranean ingredients (think feta, olive oil, cardamom, sumac) and spin them into something modern, like Egg Bites with Feta, Olive Oil Pumpkin Bread, and Brown Butter Cardamom Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Everything you see here is developed, tested, and photographed in my own kitchen. I'm a one-woman operation-the writer, cook, editor, photographer, and dish-washer (lots of that).
Because I have a background in writing and editing, I take accuracy seriously, but I'm human. If you ever catch a typo or have a question, leave me a comment! I read every single one, and I love connecting with readers and those who care about good food as much as I do.
A Few Fun Facts
- I lived in Turkey for a few years, where I learned how to host and how to make the best, creamy, foam-filled Turkish coffee.
- I am a Sagittarius.
- My favorite flavor combination? Brown butter and cardamom.
- My go-to clean-out-the-fridge meal is a Mediterranean bowl (some call it "Balkan Breakfast"). I am a big breakfast eater.
- If I could get you to try one recipe on my blog, it would be my Olive Oil Yogurt Loaf cake. It's so good, not too sweet, and goes so well with tea or even an Americano.
