Wet Ingredients
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup smooth and runny tahini (if yours is thick or clumpy, stir in a bit of warm water to thin before measuring)
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla, and tahini until smooth and creamy.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sea salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined. Don’t overmix—it’s okay if it’s a little lumpy. Place batter aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat your waffle maker and lightly grease it if needed. Pour in the batter and cook according to your machine’s instructions until golden and crisp.
- Serve warm with more maple syrup, a drizzle of tahini, cinnamon, and butter chips. These also freeze beautifully—just reheat in the toaster.
