  • 1 large orange, peeled, seeds removed
  • 1/4 cup sliced fresh ginger, skin peeled
  • 2 tablespoons sliced fresh turmeric, skin peeled
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water, coconut water, or fresh orange juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the orange, ginger, turmeric, and black pepper to a high-speed blender.
  2. Add the liquid of choice.
  3. Blend on high for about 60 seconds until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. For a smooth and consistent texture, use a fine-mesh strainer to remove any lumps from your ginger shots.*see notes
  5. Transfer the ginger shots to a jar with a lid. *see notes
  6. Consume within 3 days.

Notes

To strain the ginger shots, it is recommended to use a fine mesh strainer.

To strain the ginger shots using a fine mesh strainer, start by pouring the smoothie into the strainer. Gently press the mixture against the mesh with a spoon or spatula to extract all the liquid while leaving behind any solids or pulp. Finally, transfer the strained mixture into a serving glass or multiple 4-ounce Mason jar containers.

How to Store Ginger Shots

After making the ginger shots, pour them into shot-size jars with a lid or any jar with a lid and place them into the fridge for up to 3 days.
