Classic Macchiato Recipe

Learn how to make a classic Italian Café Macchiato at home. A delicious balance of bold espresso and velvety milk foam.

Ingredients

  • ½-¾ oz (16-20 g) fine-ground coffee
  • 3 ½ fl oz (100 mL) milk

Instructions

  1. Start by warming up two espresso shot glasses or demitasse cups. You can either do this with your machine or hot water.
  2. Brew one shot/1 fl oz (25mL) espresso into each cup.
  3. Steam the milk until it reaches 140-150 ℉ (60-65 ℃), or until the pitcher is too hot to touch.
  4. Carefully spoon 1-2 teaspoons of foam on top of each espresso shot and serve.
